
Mrs. Eggleton's AP English Language & Composition students played the game of Memory during RTI using Greek and Latin roots. Greek and Latin root words can help students decode word meanings and increase vocabulary understanding.





The WHHS Beta Club assembled a Chemo Care Kit, and President, Will Young, presented it to Coach Baldwin.



Mrs. Dixon's class were completing a unit covering the poem, Beowulf. As part of the unit, students drew depictions of the character, Grendel.


Arkansas Peace Week celebrated the third week of September, is a program of activities with a mission to educate and promote peacemaking in our society and raise awareness of organizations working to build peace in Arkansas. Congratulations to the WHHS Peace Week Essay finalists: 1st place: Alexandria Evans, 2nd place: Keira McKinney, 10th-grade Finalist: Angel Velazquez, and 11th-grade finalist:
Riley Cantrell.

SENIORS: IF you ordered a Senior t-shirt, you may pick it up in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center during lunch on Thursday.

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attack on America. The Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon were targeted. There also was a failed attack on the White House. Mrs. Young spoke to students today about her experience witnessing the attack.



The WHHS FCS has grown since school began! What a great group seeking wisdom and guidance in their lives!




Mrs. Eggleton's English 12 class read the Old English elegy poem "The Seafarer" in class this week. Students compared portions of the poem in Old English to Modern English translations. This exercise helped students recognize how language changes and evolves over time. Students include:: Castillo, Emily, Forrest, Ben, Forrest Keionna, Gipson, Aaron, Hamilton, Skylar, Hawkins, Zane, Johnson, Jessie, Manning, Shemar, Martz, Hayden, Render, Stella, Thorton, James, Trujillo, Adrian, Valadez, Yesenia, and Williams, Allison.

It all began with the first pep rally of this school year. The excitement was building throughout the evening, ending with a Bulldog victory over Sheridan. The Bulldogs retained "The Battle of the Highway 270" trophy with their 43-19 win!









This morning was the first meeting of the FCA! There was a great turnout

Open House and Freshman Orientation for tonight has been canceled. It will be held Monday, August 21. This is for grades 9-12 at 5pm and concludes at 7pm. Freshman Orientation will begin at 6pm in the fine arts building.
