It’s National School Breakfast Week! Did you know students who eat breakfast the morning of a standardized test score 17.5% higher on average than those who skip it? That’s a big boost for something as simple as starting the day with a good meal! The best part? At White Hall, breakfast is FREE for every student, every single school day, not just this week. So fuel up, Bulldogs, and let your brain do its best work! And tomorrow’s menu makes it easy… grab a slice of breakfast pizza or a strawberry toaster pastry and start your day the right way!

We are proud to share that Moody Elementary was recognized as the Top Fundraising Group, donating $775 at the event, and with continued donations, our total has now reached $795! This effort was led by Moody's Great Girl and Great Guy Clubs, open to any fifth grader who wants to join. These clubs focus on giving back through monthly meetings, community speakers, and hands-on service projects. This spring, students chose to support our inclusion classmates through the Polar Plunge, which was very personal to them since they learn alongside these students each day. They are already planning to attend the upcoming Special Olympics Track & Field Meet to continue cheering on and supporting their peers.

What do ATLAS results tell us?
ATLAS results give us a snapshot of how your student is doing with grade-level skills. They help us see what your student understands well and where extra support might be needed.
ATLAS shows:
How your student is performing on grade-level work
Skills your student has mastered
Areas that may need more practice
How our school is performing overall
ATLAS does not show:
Everything your student can do
How hard they work each day
Their creativity, personality, or potential
ATLAS is just one piece of the puzzle. Teachers also use classroom work, daily assignments, and observations to understand your student’s progress.

What are interim assessments?
You may hear your student or their teachers talk about interim assessments, but what are they?
Interim assessments are check-ins given during the school year. Students in K–2 take one interim, and students in grades 3–10 take two interims. These assessments help teachers see how students are doing in a subject. They are not used to determine grades. Interim assessments are designed to look at the whole picture of a subject. You may hear the word “blueprint” used when talking about assessments. A blueprint is simply a roadmap of everything students are expected to learn in a subject during the year. Instead of focusing on just one lesson or unit, interim assessments include questions from across the subject to show how students are doing overall.
After interim assessments are complete, teachers review the results to better understand student progress and next steps. Teachers use this information to:
See which skills students are already comfortable with
Spot areas where students may need extra support
Plan small groups, review activities, or enrichment
Interim assessments help schools respond during the school year, instead of waiting until the end. They give teachers and families useful information so we can work together to support student growth.

11th grade students will take the ACT during the school day on February 24. The test will begin as soon as possible after the first bell.
The ACT measures skills students have been building in English, math, reading, and science. Recent updates to the ACT include a slightly shorter test, more time per question, and fewer answer choices in math, helping students work at a comfortable pace while still showing what they know.
Students can find helpful information about test day expectations, practice questions, and preparation tips on the Information for Examinees page. Information for Examinees Page
This free, school-day ACT gives students an opportunity to gain experience and earn a college-reportable score in a familiar setting. Questions? Contact Mrs. Powell at powellt@whitehallsd.org

Through this activity, students learned that dressing professionally shows potential employers they are serious, prepared, and ready for the job. They also gained valuable experience in budgeting—making thoughtful spending decisions and understanding the importance of setting and sticking to a financial plan.
How can I view my student’s ATLAS results?
Families can view ATLAS score reports through the Parent Portal. Once logged in, you’ll be able to see your student’s assessment results and check their progress throughout the year and from year to year. A short video tutorial is available to help you log in, along with a quick guide that explains how to read your student’s scores. Both can be found in the Learning and Assessment Center section of our website. If you need your Parent Portal access code, have trouble logging in, or have questions about reports, your student’s school counselor will be happy to help.
