School Accountability Reports

November 17, 2022

Dear Parents, Guardians, Families, and Community Members,

The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) provides a series of reports designed to obtain a snapshot of student performance. Reports are located in My School Info and include the Public School Rating (Accountability At-a-Glance), ESSA School Index, and School Report Card.

The School Rating (Accountability At-a-Glance) converts the ESSA School Index score into a letter grade and shows student performance broken down by various subgroups of students. The ESSA School Index is derived from the following:

  • Weighted Achievement–student performance for the tested year

  • School Value Added Growth–comparison of each student’s growth from the previous school year

  • School Quality Success Score (SQSS)--many factors determine this score, including absenteeism

The 2022 School Ratings for Hardin Elementary can be found at https://5il.co/1ko71

The 2022 ESSA School Index for HardinElementary is available here:https://5il.co/1ko7y. For more information on ESSA indicators, go to bit.ly/ESSAindicators.

Our students performed above the state average in all tested areas. To close the learning gap created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we set a goal to raise our growth in all areas by 3%. Our reports show that we achieved this goal. Hardin Elementary was even recognized for raising our weighted achievement score by 10 points. Our teachers and students work diligently to do their best, and their hard work shows in our reports. I cannot wait to see the progress that we make together during the 2022-2023 school year.

Sincerely,

Jeff Glover Hardin Elementary, Principal
