drugs are dangerous

During the last nine weeks of last school year the Redfield American Legion presented a poster contest. Lily Blasengame entered a poster. She won 1st place in our legions contest and won $50 from them. She was then entered in the state legions contest. She won 1st place there also and won $250!  Way to go Lily! We know you are in middle school now but we are so proud of you!

Here is information about the contest.

The Poster Contest directed toward the 5th grade students is part of The American Legion's War On Drugs.  The objective is for the youngster to create in his or her own mind an image of the harmful effects of drugs to their body. It is often said that one will forget what we see, and what we hear, but never what we do. It is hoped that, by the youngster's creativity, he or she will always remember their poster message if offered drugs later in life. The poster will remind them to say no!

To encourage participation, it is suggested that Legion Posts visit school districts in their area to provide this information.

Thank you to our local American Legion for providing this opportunity to our students.
