The 4th grade art classes of Gandy Elementary had the privilege of interviewing and drawing portraits of two local veterans, Mr. Glen Minor and Mr. Barry Ferguson Mr. Minor served in the Air Force and Mr. Ferguson served in the Army. The veterans visited 4th grade art classes and shared pictures and stories about life in the military. They also presented each student with an American flag and a bookmark. Afterward, each student drew a ‘Portrait of Courage’ of either Mr. Minor or Mr. Ferguson, or one of their own family members who has served in the military. The artwork is on display in the Gandy cafeteria to coincide with the Gandy Veteran’s Day music program on Monday, November 13.
