The Arkansas Department of Education school letter grades for 2025–26 show strong academic growth across the White Hall School District. While WHSD maintained an overall rating of C, its accountability score rose more than 42 points, with five of six schools showing gains.
Some of the largest gains came at the secondary level. White Hall Middle School improved 74 points, moving from an F to a C, while White Hall High School gained nearly 56 points, moving from an F to a C.
Elementary schools showed strong growth as well. Taylor Elementary gained nearly 49 points, moving from a D to a C, while Gandy Elementary gained nearly 31 points and maintained a C. Hardin Elementary earned a C and had the district’s highest average achievement level, with 50% of students performing at or above grade level.
One of the district’s most exciting accomplishments this year came from Moody Elementary. Moody earned a B with a 44-point improvement and was named an Arkansas GEM. School for ranking in the top 10% statewide for student growth in English Language Arts. The designation recognizes Moody as one of the state’s strongest schools for ELA growth.
School letter grades consider student performance and growth on the spring 2026 ATLAS assessment, including the growth of students who need the most support. ATLAS measures English Language Arts in grades 3–10, math and science in grades 3–8, and Algebra I, Geometry and Biology through end-of-course assessments. At the high school level, ratings include graduation rates and college and career readiness through Merit and Distinction diplomas.
While accountability ratings are only one measure of a school, it is encouraging to see the hard work of our students and teachers reflected in this year’s results.
