White Hall Middle School kicked off the school year with a celebration to remember at its first pep assembly on September 11. While pep rallies are often thought of as all about sports, this one made it clear that Bulldog pride is just as strong in the classroom as it is on the field.
The spotlight was on academics as the school honored 99 students who scored at levels 3 and 4 in all four areas of the ATLAS state assessment. As each name was called, the gym filled with cheers. Students made their way through a tunnel of classmates before receiving a championship ring, a symbol of their hard work and determination. The celebration captured the pride of the entire school community.
This was the very first year for awarding championship rings at White Hall Middle School. Principal Les Davis shared that the rings are meant to recognize much more than a test score. They represent perseverance, focus, and the commitment it takes to succeed in school. Students will have the opportunity to earn a ring each year, creating a tradition that highlights the value of academic achievement.
In all, 99 students received awards during the assembly, setting the tone for a year of high expectations and strong performance. The championship rings not only honored the achievements of the past year but also inspired every student in the building to keep pushing toward their goals.
