Mrs. Christa Rongey

Dear families,

I would like to start by telling you a little about myself.  My name is Christa Rongey.  My husband, Mark, and I have been married for 18 years.  We have three beautiful daughters, Hannah (17), Emma (15), and Alex Kate (13).  My favorite times are spent with my family.  We spend most of our time on some type of sports field or court.  Each of my daughters have a sport or activity they love and as their number one fan, I spend my time on the side lines.  I have learned much about soccer, softball, and basketball since they have discovered their love for these sports.

It was fourth grade that I decided I wanted to be a teacher; however, I did not pursue this goal until the age of 32.  I graduated from UAM with my bachelor’s degree May 2018 and completed my master's this past May.  I am very excited to be at Taylor and that I have the opportunity to challenge your child's mind.  I am looking forward to a great school year!

My goal is to assist each child in becoming the best they are capable of becoming, both academically and in building positive character virtues.  I want them to learn to work with others and to be able to resolve issues in a Win-Win way (finding ways to interact with others so everyone’s needs are met).  We will work in groups as well as individual work.  Working in groups will assist your student in learning to work with others and using positive communication to reach mutual goals.

I understand that each child is unique and has unique needs.  I will attempt to embrace that uniqueness and assist your student in establishing the best learning opportunities possible.  If students are not reaching their goals, I will work with them to find ways to make instruction and curriculum more engaging and appropriate.  I want to see every child be as successful as possible and embrace their uniqueness.  Dr. Seuss said it best, “Today you are you, that is truer than true.  There is no one alive who is youer than you.”

Should you need to contact me, please email rongeyc@whitehallsd.org or call the school 870-247-1988 to leave a message.  My conference time is 8:35-9:25am.
