The Gandy PTO plays a vital role in Parent/Family/Community Involvement.  Our PTO membership provides volunteers for the classroom, the building, for special events, and for annual scheduled activities.  Members serve on school committees and are a major financial sponsor for school projects such as providing equipment for school security, commercial digital school signage, and for subsidizing school programming that the district may not cover.

The PTO sponsors a Fall and Spring school dance, an annual school carnival, and an annual FUN DAY at the end of each school year.  The group pays for guest speakers and presents programs such as the annual visit by Bob Tarter, who brings his exotic animals from all around the world.

The organization strives to support teachers by supplying them with classroom resources and offering assistance directly to the classroom teacher.  The PTO takes it upon itself to initiate projects for the well-being of students.  This year the organization will provide two touch-less water fountains with sensor controlled bottle fillers along two more fountains purchased by the school.  This will be a major support effort in our fight to control the spread of the Corona Virus among students and staff.  All students will be using water bottles in order to alleviate the need to drink after each other at water fountain stations.

  • Fundraising provides various opportunities to increase the PTO budget. The PTO budget allows for the purchase of many items that benefit the students, teachers, and supporters of Gandy Elementary.

Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school earn cash. Gandy PTO uses the money earned from Box Tops to purchase classroom supplies for Gandy teachers.

You can become a Box Tops member by signing up at www.btfe.com to stay updated on our school's earnings, and find a full list of hundreds of hundreds of participating products. Members also receive exclusive coupon offers and recipes, and can learn about extra ways for our school to earn more cash.

There are two ways to turn in Box Tops.

  1. Zip Lock bag in groups of 50
  2. Collection Sheet

PTO will send everyone an initial collection sheet to get started. Once you are ready to turn your Box Tops in, you can have your child put them in the white mailbox at the front door of the school labeled Box Tops. Your child's teacher will also have a copy of the collection sheet, so if at any time you need a collection sheet, you may ask your child's teacher for a copy as well.

You may also click here to download your own collection sheet. It does not matter which sheet you choose.

Please check the expiration date on the Box Tops. Once they expire, we can no longer receive reimbursement for that Box Top.

BONUS BOX TOPS - Please place "Bonus Box Tops" in a Ziploc bag with your child's name on it. DO NOT tape or staple them to the collection sheet.

Please, DO NOT STAPLE Box Tops to your collection sheet. Only glue or tape is accepted.

Please make sure that your child's first, last, and teacher's name is on whichever form you choose to send in.

We do not want any student to miss out on points because their name was not on their Box Tops. There is no way to track who the Box Tops belong to once placed in the mailbox, so PLEASE double check before you send them with your child. All of these instructions can be found on your collection sheet.

The PTO supplies a $5.00 gift card to the student of each grade that brings THE MOST Box Tops within each 9 weeks. Also, at the end of the 9 weeks, the class with the most Box Tops will receive a Pizza Party at school. These awards will be announced at each 9 week's awards ceremonies.

If you have any questions, please contact Nikki Elikins at dwhitetitus@live.com or (870) 692-3765.
