¡Hola! Bienvenidos a mi página web. (Hi, and welcome to my web page!) I look forward to working with my students this year and am excited to get started on our study of the Spanish language. Lesson plans and video/helpful website links for Spanish I are posted on the left in the "Spanish I Resources" tab.
So, what exactly does Spanish I entail? During the year, students will practice the four domains of language learning: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Here are some of the main topics that we will cover throughout the school year:
1.) Overview of Spanish-speaking countries & their capitals
2.) Introductions and Greetings in Spanish
    3.) Spanish alphabet and numbers
4.) Telling time, the Spanish calendar, seasons and weather
5.) Describing yourself and other people
6.) Holidays celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries (i.e. Dia de los muertos and Cinco de mayo)
7.) Grammar concepts: articles, adjectives, nouns, and present-tense and past-tense verbs
8.) Talking about school and hobbies
    9.) Ordering food
10.) Authentic materials in Spanish: music, dance, short stories, foods, traditions, newspaper articles, ect.
**Spanish I students will need to maintain an organized notebook for my class and can expect quarterly notebook checks throughout the school year. Here is what they need:
    *One 3-ring binder
*Three dividers labeled as followed: Bell Work, Assignments, and Culture
    *Notebook paper
