¡Hola! Bienvenidos a mi página web. (Hi, and welcome to my web page!) I look forward to working with my students this year and am excited to get started on our study of the Spanish language. Lesson plans and video/helpful website links for Spanish I are posted on the left in the "Spanish I Resources" tab.So, what exactly does Spanish I entail? During the year, students will practice the four domains of language learning: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Here are some of the main topics that we will cover throughout the school year:1.) Overview of Spanish-speaking countries & their capitals2.) Introductions and Greetings in Spanish3.) Spanish alphabet and numbers4.) Telling time, the Spanish calendar, seasons and weather5.) Describing yourself and other people6.) Holidays celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries (i.e. Dia de los muertos and Cinco de mayo)7.) Grammar concepts: articles, adjectives, nouns, and present-tense and past-tense verbs8.) Talking about school and hobbies9.) Ordering food10.) Authentic materials in Spanish: music, dance, short stories, foods, traditions, newspaper articles, ect.**Spanish I students will need to maintain an organized notebook for my class and can expect quarterly notebook checks throughout the school year.
