    Course Description:

     English Language Arts is designed to increase students’ literacy, critical thinking, and writing skills. Language Arts contains a curriculum filled with literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary. Curriculum is developed and implemented using the Arkansas State Standards and the students’ individualized education plan.

    Course Objective: 

    Students will read fluently a variety of literature genres on their academic level. Students will develop new vocabulary, learn and demonstrate correct composition techniques, and develop an understanding of appropriate listening and speaking skills. Instruction is offered for the students to meet their goals in their individualized education plan (IEP)


    Students are given a classroom set of books as needed. They may check them out with me to take home if needed.  Students will need a binder and dividers.

    Grades will be based on bell assignments, homework, tests, and notebooks. 

    Homework Policy:

    Homework is given every Tuesday and Thursday. Homework is due back the following day during their class period. 


    Students are to adhere to all school and classroom policies unless otherwise stated in the student's individualized education plan (IEP).
