Car Rider Information
There is no adult supervision available before 7:30 A.M.
Parents must drop-off or pick-up students in the appropriate areas. Please do not attempt to save time or take short cuts by dropping off or picking up students in undesignated areas. The only way to drop-off or pick-up a student in an area other than the area designated is to park in a parking lot space and physically escort the student into the building when arriving. In the afternoon, in order to personally retrieve you child, you must go into the building, check the student out in the school office, and physically escort your child out when leaving.
IN ORDER TO ENSURE YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY AND YOUR SAFETY … AND TO PROMOTE EFFICIENCY… WE REQUIRE THAT YOU DO NOT PARK IN ANY UNDESIGNATED AREA AND WALK TO THE CAR LINE PICK-UP AREA TO PERSONALLY RETRIEVE YOUR CHILD AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY.
YOU MUST GO TO THE OFFICE AND CHECK YOUR CHILD OUT OF SCHOOL TO PERSONALLY ESCORT YOUR CHILD TO YOUR CAR DURING AFTERNOON PICK-UP TIME.
Identification Tags will be issued to parents to place on their front windshield visor or dashboard BEGINNING THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL. We will issue tags on day one. Each family will be given two tags. You will need to display this tag before we allow any child to get into a vehicle. If you misplace or lose your car pick-up tag you’ll need to go into the office when you come to school to drop off or pick your child up and ask for a replacement tag. This program will help protect your child and keep them safe.
A map and directions for drop-off and pick-up procedures will accompany this letter. Copies are available in the office. If you need additional copies of the procedures to distribute to other family members or relatives who may be picking up or dropping off your child, please contact the office. Make sure you give written notice of any changes made in routine transportation arrangements for bus or car. We will not allow students to make changes without written notice (riding home with others, changing buses, etc.). We can not guarantee transportation changes after 2:45 P.M. We must be able to verify any changes requested by phone call so please make sure you list all possible telephone numbers on your registration form: home, cell, work, relatives, etc.
Car-rider parents will be contacted by the school administration if a student is not picked up by 3:45 P.M. Please notify the office if you are running late or are detained from picking up a student. We will not leave a child unsupervised after school hours, but remember that school employees have families and other responsibilities just like everyone else after 3:45 P.M. Please be considerate. Although this rarely happens and is not the norm, a consistent problem of late pickup will be reported to the White Hall City Resource Officer if advisement letters and school communication are ignored. At this point a Family In Needs of Services Petition may be filed with the Jefferson County Juvenile Court System. Please review the drop-off and pick-up procedures carefully. Only by following the appropriate procedures can the process flow smoothly.
