Taylor Elementary School Parents, The 2011-2012 school year is upon us. We look forward to a wonderful school year and to working with you and your child. Together, we can do anything! I want to thank all the dads who helped us kick off our WATCH DOGS program last year. We love the program and can't wait to watch it grow even stronger this year. We will have a Pizza Night for dads and kids to kick off the event for this year. We need YOU! We look forward to another successful year with our PTO program. Your help will allow us to improve our school. The PTO has already created a beautiful place for our kindergarteners to play. Other beautification projects have been funded as well. Have you seen the artwork in the cafeteria? What about the mural of Jack and the Beanstalk? Ms. Ida Benson, local artist, provided the beautiful brushstrokes. A special thanks to Mrs. Ginger Cooper for her hard work as our PTO President. We have several updates to make to our playground that will be very costly. We plan to work on it in sections due to the cost of the project. We appreciate your help with PTO endeavors. We continue to work on the beautification of our school. The school district tiled our cafeteria floor last year. It is georgous! We have new lockers for the new school year. Now that will really improve our looks! The school district also remodeled one of our classrooms with new tile and new sheetrock. One hallway of classrooms is getting new tile floors for the new school year. We appreciate our school district for taking such good care of us! Taylor Elementary School is so blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers. We have so many moms who give of their time each week to assist teachers. These ladies provide essential services to our teachers and we are so grateful. Please check in at the office if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with your child. I am enjoying getting to know them all.
