Hello,! I'm Karen Robinson, alias "Mrs. Rob", Music and Choral Director for Hardin Elementary and Redfield Jr. High schools. I am very excited about the upcoming school year. For the upcoming schoolyear, the Hardin Singers will meet before school Wednesday through Friday, beginning at 7:45 and rehearse until 8:05. We sing each year for school assemblies, Christmas programs, and, of course, the State Capitol. The Hardin Singers also participate each May in the Variety Show, which is our big Fund-raiser each spring. Each child buys a Hardin Singer t-shirt to wear with jeans. This outfit is used for each performance as a choir uniform.
This year, I am sending home a letter for you and your child to sign, stating that he/she will participate in this choir the entire school year. I have too many kids DROP out after the Field trip and Christmas concert. The only thing that would eliminate a student would be a lot of unruly behavior, not following directions, or, too many absences. I don't anticipate any of this, but if such occurs, I will inform you. I hope to have a great choir experience with your children this year. We may have an American Idol in the making!
Redfield Jr. High Choir meets daily at 1:20. We practice reading and notating rhythmic patterns, sightreading, posture and breathing, articulation and good tone quality. The students participate each year in the All-Region Choir auditions/concert, which take place in October and November.( Check calendar for dates) Redfield choirs are AWESOME!! Come experience the Redfield Concert choir at Christmas and in the spring as they perform. Check calendar for performance dates and other activties. VOLUNTEERS are always needed and appreciated with our activity schedule. Get involved !(:
