    ANNOUNCEMENTS                                          WHHS                              Thursday September 9, 2010

    ·         Daily announcements are posted on www.whitehallsd.org under White Hall High School.

     

    ·         Football season passes are available for purchase in the downstairs office.  Adult passes are $20 and Students passes are $15.

     

    ·         Soccer sign- up in the Principal’s office.

     

    ·         Please report locker problems to Mr. Buie.  If you do not want your locker please let the downstairs office know.

     

    ·         Math Tutoring will Monday thru Thursday mornings before school from 7:50 until 8:20 a.m.  Tutoring will be held in Mrs. Ogden’s room # 211, Mrs. Robinson’s room # 213 and Mrs. Coker’s room # 201.

     

    ·          Any girls in grades 9th - 12th who are interested in trying out for the high school softball team need to sign up at the office. This tryout is for girls who did not have the opportunity to tryout last Spring because of injury or moving into the district after the Spring tryouts last year.

     

    ·         Any student interested in signing up for the Quiz Bowl Team should sign up with Mr. Boast in room 103.  Tryouts will be held before and after school next week.

     

    ·         The Spanish Club will have their first meeting on Tues. Sept. 14 at 8:10 in room 110.

     

    ·         Student council will meet Tuesday, September 13th at 8:10 am in Mrs. Richie's room (112).  Any students not currently on student council but interested in serving, should attend this meeting.

     

    ·          Applications to join MU ALPHA THETA, a national honorary math club, are available from Mrs. Coker in

    room 201, both offices, and from Mu Alpha Theta officers.  Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 in Algebra I and Geometry and currently be enrolled in a math class.  Applications are due to Mrs. Coker by Wednesday, September 15.  The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 8:10 AM in Mrs. Coker's room, 201.

     

    ·         Lunch money must be in a sealed envelope with your name and lunch code on the front.  Duty teachers in the brick hall way will have the black box for you to deposit your lunch money in. If you pay Mrs. Moore with cash in the lunch line you must go to the end of the line.

     

    ·         You're invited to join the White Hall Library Teen Advisory Board! Earn volunteer hours and help us plan another great year. Come join us at the White Hall Library after school on today, September, 9. We'd love to hear what YOU want to do, and need your help to make it happen.

     

    What can you do?

    1.        plan and volunteer at teen activities

    2.        write or draw for the teen newsletter

    3.        make a video promoting the library

    4.        suggest purchases (like books and Wii games)

    5.        help with publicity (poster artists, anyone?)

    GUIDANCE OFFICE

     

     

    ·         Any junior or senior currently serving on the student council interested in the United State Senate Youth Program applications are available in the guidance office. 

     

    ·         Sign up for the ASVAB test in the guidance office.  This test is only for juniors and seniors.  Deadline is Oct. 4th.  The test is Oct. 6th.

     

    ·          Sign up for the PSAT in the guidance office.  This test is only for 10th and 11th graders.  Deadline is Sept. 21st.  The test is Oct. 13th Cost is $13.00.  You must pay when you sign up.

     

    ·         The Pine Bluff Jefferson County Economic Opportunity Commission is offering a limited number of scholarships to our students for the 2010 fall semester.  To be eligible, the student must be low-income. The scholarship deadline is September 20, 2010.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
